■ Pastoral Letter 1 – March 19, 2020

♡ Dear beloved Toronto Dream Church family members! ♡
How concerned and anxious are you due to COVID-19? The world is changing day by day. It is the first disaster everyone has ever experienced.
The church is also in an emergency. However, I hope you can gain strength as you meditate on Psalm 46 I am sharing today.

I am not sure if anyone is experiencing any difficulties, especially due to the government’s measures to ban foreigners from entering the country. At times like this, we should look around us. We encourage you to make the best use of online media (telephone, SNS, e-mail), etc. to take care of the family of faith. If you are aware of anyone who requires urgent help and/or going through difficulties, have any urgent help or difficulties, please let church staff know. Until this disturbance calms down, I would like to convey the words of meditation along with the church news. I pray and hope this could comfort your hearts.

■ The schedule that was set last week through the church conference has been revised after the announcement made by Doug Ford, the premier of Ontario. Pray for the church to orient the right direction of faith in these changing circumstances.

1. Online worship services are offered on this Sunday (22nd) and next Sunday (29th).
All official services (Elijah prayer service and Morning service) are temporarily closed for 2 weeks. At first, it was decided to divide the services into three parts, so less than 50 people can attend each service. However, we came to this decision considering many people’s concerns and seniors who live in the Calvary apartment. Your understanding would be much appreciated.

Online worship service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, so please gather around with your family to worship (Refer to the online worship etiquette).
You can watch the online video service on torontodreamchurch.com or YouTube (Toronto Dream Church).

* Offering information: Offerings can be e-transferred to torontodreamchurch.finance@gmail.com or you can bring it to the‘evening relay prayer’(you
can find related information below) meeting and put it in the offering box. The service will resume on April 5th (Sunday) at 11:00 pm and 1:30 pm unless there is no further announcement.

* Online Worship Etiquette
1) Be properly dressed.
2) Prepare the Bible, notebook and writing instruments.
3) Gather together to worship as a family.
4) Keep the cell phone off and put it away until the service is over.
5) Participate in every order of the service with a reverent heart

2. Instead of the official services, a small number of people will gather together for the Special Relay Prayer.
Please pray by setting the desired date for each individual, family, or cell group. It is the time when prayer is needed more than ever, and the church should not put out the light of prayer. Except for the elderly, infants and toddlers, those with cold symptoms, and those who lack in immunity, I hope all church members participate in praying at least once a day.
You can find the prayer topics at the church. I will also send it via Kakao Talk.

* Special Lent Relay Prayer
Date ; Time: March 23rd (MON) – April 3rd (FRI), every day at 7:30-8:30 pm

* It will be also held on Saturdays and Sundays. Church staff will do the opening and closing prayer each day.

3. The service to celebrate the unity of two churches will be replaced with the newspaper advertisement. In the fall, at the 1st anniversary thanksgiving service, we will have an opportunity to invite guests.

4. Toronto Dream Church is officially registered with the Canadian Revenue Service (CRA). From April 1st, the same offering envelop will be used, and the church finance will be using one account.

5. Our church homepage is now open, so hope you visit the site more often.
www.torontodreamchurch.com (Type ‘Toronto Dream Church’ on Google Search Box)

6. After March 31, we will decide the direction of the church by observing the government’s actions and trends.
If there are no more restrictions and they lift the ban on gatherings of more than 50 people, we will hold a special morning service for the week from April 6th to 10th. And the Good Friday Service on April 10th (FRI) will be held as the integrated worship with 5 other churches.

■ Today’s words of meditation: Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the
sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Selah
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High
dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar,
kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is
our fortress. Selah
Come and see the works of the LORD, the desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes wars
cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear, he burns the shields
with fire. “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in
the earth.”
The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

♤ God is alive and he will certainly protect His people of faith. Let’s be hopeful through
a prayer instead of being fearful.

Sincerely,
JUNHO PARK
